Character deletion Upgrade
If anyone has a thread about this I do say i'm sorry , yes I have used search.
What need to be added to the deletion of characters?
We need a window that pops up saying what items are on your character, before you delete him/her.This Window includes, weapons, armor, materials, scrolls, runes, insignias, ad any other items in the inv. of that character.
Why Does this Need to be Added?
Every time, before I delete a character I always have to go into the game and check, before I delete it. I'am tired of doing this when I can look at a check list on the deletion page.
How Does it Work?
You simply click on a character press delete, when the Name box shows up so does the list, the list has no max of items that show on it, after you see whats on the character, click in the box on what you want to keep, if you do that after the character is deleted it will go to your storage, if not space in storage it tells you that you have no space, and cant delete this char.
what do you think???

If you delete a character that had a bunch of valuables on him, that's your fault for not putting a little thought into the process.

How about this; don't delete PvE characters. I have never created a non duplicate (meaning I don't have another character of the same class) PvE character and then deleted them without having that intent from when I created them. As such, I have never deleted valuables.
However I don't think it would hurt to add a pop-up window that warns you if the character your are deleting has anything still on them.

Excellent, and well done (im not being sarcastic)
Good idea in theory and happy it worked for you but every one has different playing styles, requirements and wants/needs, i wanted to try a few different builds and see what i was happiest with though, as i am sure a lot of people have made characters and just didnt like the concept of a Mez or Rt or discovered being a warrior wasn`t as much fun as they first thought or gave up on being abused for being a monk or that person who is going for for Legendary Survivor and got wiped out at 800K but wants the title so starts again and has no other slots available, the list and reasons are endless, and deleting characters with items on them is our own fault nothing surer and I don`t argue that, what he is saying is having a prompt to remind us that you are deleting 25,423 gold would be handy, after a few hours and an ice pack on my forehead i seen the funny side to it and proceeded to tell all of my guildies what i had done, i have actually done it a few times, once bitten, twice shy third time im a fool i know but i still think a prompt is a good idea.
PS gratz on keepeing your characters so long, i only have my warrior left from the prophecies start up, my next oldest is well after Factions came out, iam learning slowly though, i should stay as a warrior, i can lift heavy things, lol

I'd be behind this idea.
Over the Paragon/Dervish PvE test weekend, I lost well over 3 flames of Balthazar by accidentally deleting Zaishen Tokens on PvP characters.

I'd support this because I've accidentally deleted chars with valuables on them-should of checked more clearly I know; but I still think this would prevent such stuff happening and it stops you having to check all the time.

Why do you delete characters so often? If you're rerolling PvP characters, there really shouldn't be anything in there unless you hit the HoH chest in which case just plop it in storage afterward. If you're constantly deleting PvE characters, just make a character and stick with it rather than constantly deleting and remaking.
It's not that hard to remember whether or not the character has any items, it's also not that hard to check. You have to type the characters name to delete it so you don't accidentally delete it and to give you a chance to reflect on whether or not you really want to delete it. If it's too much of a hassle to check; stop deleting characters so often!

Theres a bunch of other things that are more importaint to be done first,
This is not a bad idea but i like to take this one step farther. I would like a hot key that that makes a file in your guild wars folder listing the items you have on you character at the time. sort of a inventory list you can look at and manage outside of the game.

Deleting a character is not something you do ten times a day, and Anet will not encourage that.
If you plan to delete a character, just plan it and unequip anything she carries before deleting her.

All of you talking about delete this and delete that, your looking too far into what im saying.
This is not a must need, we just need it for those times when you share goods things with low level char, but then you mess up with them, let me list some possible examples
didn't like facial looks
something went wrong with your plans of titles, skills, ect.
has a space with a pre character in it, that you might you for storage until you use that character, until you find a better name.
theres many more but I cant list them all in one post

^But in all those examples it should be no problem to remember if/check if the character in question has anything you need to save since it happens so infrequently.

Ok so your character has a totally full inventory, all bags and belt pouch full. The stuff can't go into storage automatically.
The deletion system is quite good because it asks you to type the name in, so you can't delete the character accidentally.
Even having a questions that says "This character has equipment. Are you sure you want to delete?" will have people clicking yes without meaning to.
Though I guess a question like that may be helpful if it comes before you type the name in.
(I've deleted a PvP character I never used, made because a guild I belonged to requested it. I deleted a character I made in the Nightfall preview. And I deleted a storage character. I checked the storage character carefully before deleting...)

Though it may benefit you (and maybe some others), it is definitely not worth Anet's time to spend lots of time to program something as petty as this. I'd rather have them fix bugs or introduce new areas/items.

Don't even bother trying to explain logic in this subject, these people are fed with silver spoons.
